Why Choose Us

The Uplift Foundation of Nevada is a nonprofit organization working to make a significant difference in the lives of youth and their families in the Las Vegas Valley. Over the past two decades, we have positively impacted the lives of nearly 10,000 youth and their families through our programs.



We provide year-round mentoring for boys in the 6th- 12th grades

We annually host the Youth & Justice Forum and Economic Summit & Student Leadership Conference to provide critical information to students and their families. 

We partner with the Public Education Foundation to award scholarships to talented college-bound high school seniors in the Las Vegas Valley.

Our Journey

Welcome to the story of the Uplift Foundation of Nevada. Our journey began long before our formal establishment. In 1978, the Kappa Xi Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., initiated a community outreach program with a powerful vision to provide financial support to groups like the Frontier Girl Scouts, give holiday food baskets to underprivileged families, mentor young boys and award college scholarships. In 2002, members of Omega Psi Phi formed a separate, independent and distinct organization, Omega Psi Phi Charities of Nevada, to help with this work. Omega Charities eventually established itself at the Uplift Foundation of Nevada. Over the years, we’ve established and sustained diverse partnerships to strengthen our mission of empowering youth and their families.

Our Mission

Our core mission is to make a meaningful difference in the lives of youth and their families in the Las Vegas Valley and Clark County. We are particularly dedicated to supporting young people from disadvantaged backgrounds. We empower them through comprehensive programming, essential services, and unwavering support. We achieve our mission by developing and sustaining diverse partnerships to provide programs that promote crucial life skills, college readiness, career exploration and postsecondary success. By focusing on these vital areas, the Uplift helps youth to overcome challenges and reach their full potential. Our commitment is to be a pillar of support, driving positive change and contributing to a stronger, more vibrant community.

Our Impact in the Community

Omega Gents: More than 800 young men have matriculated through the program, which offers year-round mentoring for boys in the 6th through 12th grades, providing guidance and support

College Scholarships: Awarded approximately $350,000 to 193 students through our program and nearly $50,000 to college-bound students via the Economic Summit & Student Leadership Conference.

Youth & Justice Forum: Equipped more than 1,000 students and their families with information about their rights and responsibilities as citizens and how to successfully navigate interactions with law enforcement.

Economic Summit & Student Leadership Conference: Since the event’s inception, more than 4,000 students have participated, obtaining important information about character development, college, careers, entrepreneurship, leadership and planning for postsecondary success.

Philanthropy: Thousands of dollars and thousands of hours of in-kind support have been provided to schools, civic groups, youth-serving nonprofits, and other organizations across the Las Vegas Valley.
